Whether you're looking to join a book club or start your own, Cambridge Public Library has a way for you to enjoy engaging stories with a community of readers.
Book Club Kits
Book Club in a Bag kits are specially designed for reading groups, featuring eight (8) copies of the same book along with discussion questions. These kits come with a special 6-week loan period, making them perfect for gatherings at home or any venue you choose.
Some new kits added this year include national bestseller The King's Messenger by Susanna Kearsley, historical mystery Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon, award-winning graphic novel Big Jim and The White Boy: An American Classic Reimagined by David Walker, and the important non-fiction title 52 Ways to Reconcile by David A. Robertson.
Book Clubs at Your Library
Your library also hosts traditional book clubs at three locations across Cambridge, with meeting times designed to fit your busy schedule. The titles selected for discussion by these clubs are listed on the Events Calendar, so you can borrow them in advance.

Alternatives to the Traditional Book Club
In addition to traditional book clubs, there are several unique alternatives to consider:
- The UnBook Club has no assigned reading and meets at a local restaurant for wide-ranging conversation on books, media, and other library offerings.
- The Silent Book Club invites participants to enjoy silent reading alongside other readers. After the quiet reading, you are welcome to discuss your reading experiences.
- The Queer Book Society offers a welcoming space for 2SLGBTQIA+ readers to share and discuss their book recommendations.
Discover your favourite book club format at your library, because reading is more fun when you do it together!
