Celebrate International Games Month with your library!
This November, the library invites you to participate in International Games Month, where both analog and digital game enthusiasts can find something to enjoy. Gaming allows us to explore interactive stories, get social with friends and family, and test out our skills, luck and strategic thinking.
Game Collections for Every Interest
Board Games and Tabletop RPGs
Cambridge Public Library boasts one of the largest board game collections in Ontario, featuring classics like Scrabble and Monopoly as well as newer favourites such as Finspan, Flamecraft, and Queen By Midnight. The board game collection also includes several winners of the Spiel des Jahres, the most prestigious board game award in the world.
If you are interested in tabletop role-playing games (TTRPG), the library offers a variety of Dungeons & Dragons rulebooks, as well as the Dungeons of Stormwreck Isle starter set. You can also explore newer TTRPGs, like the innovative, futuristic Indigenous fantasy game, Coyote & Crow. Be sure to add these to your holds list through the library catalogue and get started!
Console Games
If video games are more your style, the library has over 600 titles available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox. Don’t have a gaming system at home? Members can also borrow gaming equipment, including Nintendo Switch consoles, VR headsets, joysticks, and more.
